The 2014 Jackson Brigade Reunion will be held at Jackson’s Mill, Lewis Co., West Virginia with activities in and near Buckhannon and Weston, West Virginia. View the pictures above. Jackson’s Mills was the boyhood home of General Thomas J. “Stonewall” Jackson. Two of the pictures show the old Jackson Mill that was built in 1808 by Edward Jackson. Reunion Registration: You can pick up your reunion packets and sign our reunion book 2:00-4:00 p.m. at the Jackson’s Mill Registration Bldg to the right of the Mt. Vernon Dining Room. If time permits, one can visit the Historic area. During 6:30-7:00 p.m. reunion registration will continue in the WVU Room of Jackson Mill Lodge. Dinner on July 25 will be served promptly at 5:30 p.m.
Jackson’s Mill Lodge sign in: For those who are staying at the Jackson’s Mill Lodge, sign in is Friday afternoon 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. at the Registration Building to the right of the Mt. Vernon Dining Hall where you can also pick up your reunion packet at our table in the lobby. After 4 p.m., on arrival, call (304) 269-5100 for assistance to receive keys to assigned room. Note: to stay at the Lodge you must call (304) 269-5100 and make reservations for a Lodge room. Identify yourself as attending the Jackson Brigade Reunion and have your credit card ready. A block of 20 rooms have been reserved by the Jackson Brigade. Unregistered rooms will be released June 20th by the Jackson Brigade! The lodge is not handicapped accessible. Wireless Internet is available at Jackson’s Mill Lodge. Code for wireless can be obtained at the registration desk. Other lodging facilities can be found online in Jane Lew, Weston or about 17 miles away in Clarksburg.
Note: No smoking, alcohol or firearms are permitted on the Jackson’s Mill premises.
5: 30 p.m. Optional buffet family style dinner will be served in the Mt. Vernon Dining Hall contingent upon the reservation for at least 12 individuals. Cost will be $10.07 prepaid to the Jackson Brigade. Attendees not staying at Jackson’s Mill can also make reservations by June 20, 2014 for this meal. You will be given a ticket by a Jackson Brigade member and your name checked off the list upon entering the dining room at 5:30. Dinner will be served promptly at 5:30 p.m.
6:30-10:30 p.m Official Opening of the Reunion in WVU Room at the Jackson’s Mill Lodge.
— 6:30-7:00 p.m. Continuation of sign in for the reunion and receive registration packet.
— 7:00 p.m. Business meeting followed by a Memorial Service and discussion about Saturday’s tour.
— 9:00 p.m. Presentation “Using DNA Testing for Genealogy”

7:30 a.m. Breakfast: Optional buffet family style breakfast will be served in the Mt. Vernon Dining Hall contingent upon the reservation for at least 12 individuals. Cost will be $6.63 prepaid to the Jackson Brigade. Attendees not staying at Jackson’s Mill can also make reservations by June 20, 2014 for this meal. You will be given a ticket by a Jackson Brigade member and your name checked off the list upon entering the dining room at 7:30 a.m.
9:00 a.m. Journey To Our Pioneers’ Homes: We leave promptly at the Jackson’s Mill Lodge via cars in tandem. A stop will be made at the Quality Inn in Weston to meet those not staying at Jackson’s Mill.
- The first home is in Hall, WV (near Buckhannon). One room is part of the cabin Henry Jackson built. The Henry Jackson Cemetery will be visited and if time permits we will drive a short distance to the Bethany Baptist Church for the opportunity to view pictures of Henry’s descendants. Water and Stonewall Jackson Peanut Butter Cookies will be available. Leave by noon.
- The second home is A Governor’s Inn Bed and Breakfast. Governor DDT Farnesworth married 2) Mary Ireland, granddaughter of John Jackson Jr. They lived in this Queen Anne style house during the Civil War. Courtyard luncheon at the home followed by a tour of at least the downstairs. Suggested cash donation of $9.00 per person.
- The third house will be the haunted house belonging to Jacob Jay Jackson, son of John Jackson Jr. Located in McGuire Park near the Weston Walmart.
- The fourth house will be Sunny Pointe Guest House if time permits. This is the Law house. Nancy Sturgess Law married William Dexter Hall, grandson of Col. Edward. There is a cemetery across from the house where Laws, Brakes and Eleanor Law Jackson, wife of James Madison Jackson, are buried.
6 p.m. Buffet family-style Banquet at the Mt. Vernon Dining Hall at Jackson’s Milll. Cost will be $18.55 prepaid to the Jackson Brigade. Prepaid reservations by June 20, 2014 must be received by the Jackson Brigade. You will be given a ticket by a Jackson Brigade member and your name checked off the list upon entering the dining room at 6 p.m.
Adjournment after banquet to the WVU Room (reserved from 7 p.m. – 11 p.m.)
The banquet speaker will be Dr. Mathew W. Lively who will give a talk about the wounding and death of Stonewall Jackson. He is the author of Calamity at Chancellorsville: The Wounding and Death of Confederate General Stonewall Jackson.
11 p.m. WVU room closes. We must leave room as found.

7:30 a.m. Optional buffet family style breakfast at the Mt. Vernon Dining Hall at Jackson’s Mill providing we receive at least 12 prepared reservations. Individuals lodging elsewhere can make reservations for this meal. Cost: $6.25 + 6% tax (37.5 cents) = $6.63.
Check out time for Lodge is by 11 a.m. Leave key in the room.
