Melba Josephene Miles, 79, of Buckhannon[,WV] died Saturday, April 09, 2005 at the St. Joseph’s Hospital. She was born Dec. 19, 1925, in Kanawha Head, the daughter of the late Ben H. McKissic and Merle Haymond McKissic. She was united in marriage April 25, 1947 to Ralph H. Miles, who survives.
Also surviving are two daughters: Renee and husband Jim Todd of Reynoldsville and Debra and husband Alan Williams of Newborn, Ga.; son Benny and wife Diane Miles of Grafton; four grandsons: Scott Todd of Bridgeport, Robbie Fox of Warner Robins, Ga., Brian Miles of Morgantown, and Brandon Miles of Grafton; two granddaughters: DeAnna Mocaby of Conyers, Ga., and Kristi Todd of Nutter Fort; four great-grandchildren; and two sisters: Mrs. Hayes (Arlene) Wilson of Metamora, Mich. and Ms. Sylvia DeFoe of Garden City, Mich.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers: Neal, Garth and Carl McKissic; and two sisters: Madeline Foster and Helen Johnston.
She was a secretary and a member of the Lorentz United Methodist Church, Lorentz CEOS and the Lorentz Community Building Association.
Friends will be received today, April 11, 2005 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Poling St. Clair Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held 1 p.m. on Tuesday, April 12, 2005 at the funeral home with the Rev. Jim Lang officiating. The burial will follow at the Lorentz Cemetery. The Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home of Buckhannon is in charge of the arrangements.
