Marian Hale Elliott Hodges, age 90, Sept. 16, 1921 On March 20, 2012 Marian passed away at the Willamette View retirement home[, in Portland Oregon]. She was the youngest of six children in the John and Ethel Hale family. Marian was married to Jenkin Elliott who passed away in 1979. They had four children, Gina, Richard, James and Thomas (Singh). Marian married John [Ireland] Hodges in 1982. Marian was born in Pendleton and moved to Portland as a youngster. She was active in the Centenary Wilbur Methodist Church in her youth and the Lake Oswego United Methodist Church as an adult, serving as the church secretary for many years. For over 60 years she was very active in a couple’s club associated with the Southeast YMCA in Portland. Marian is survived by her husband, John; three of her children; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. There will be a memorial service at the Lake Oswego United Methodist Church on Friday, May 18 at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Lake Oswego United Methodist Church, Mt. Hood Kiwanis Camp or PEO Sisterhood.

Marian was the second wife of John Ireland Hodges Sr., a descendant of John Jackson Jr. and his first wife Rebecca Haddan.
