Stories of our youth – from Glen Cowgill
I mentioned in my previous memory that my grandmother was the greatest cook in the world. My grandmother had cherry trees behind the house along with a black walnut tree and many plants that were a source of food. The greatest moment visiting my grandmother was when the cherry trees were ripe. She would make cherry pie, cherry cobbler and the greatest of all was the privilege to crank the ice cream maker and eat that freshly made ice cream on top of the cherry delicacies that grandma made.
